L’Open Social Foundation avait été lancée en octobre 2007 à l’initiative de Google pour éviter un développement propriétaire des applications pour réseaux sociaux.

Le co-fondateur de SugarCRM, Clint Oram a été nommé au conseil de direction, tandis que John Mertic, community manager chez SugarCRM, a été désigné secrétaire.

L’OpenSocial Foundation tiendra sa prochaine assemblée annuelle l’OpenSocial State of the Union 2012, ce mardi 17 juillet, en collaboration avec OSCON 2012 à Portland, en Oregon (États-Unis).
